Glaze and craftsmanship
Each piece is one of a kind.
Each vessel is individually handcrafted, finished by hand and high-fired. During this process, the clay shrinks naturally, so dimensions and capacity may vary slightly from the stated values, typically by up to ± 5 %. Minor irregularities in shape and contour are likewise marks of handcraft and do not affect stability or function.
Our effect glazes develop individual colour gradients, depth and subtle variations in sheen during firing. Small differences in colour intensity, glaze flow and surface texture are characteristic of handcrafted ceramics and highlight the uniqueness of each piece.

Brief Description
Handcrafted luxury ceramics made from high-quality stoneware, food-safe and dishwasher-safe for everyday use. The Krateriskos is a handcrafted stoneware ceramic mug with a handle, inspired by the volute krater, one of the most iconic vessel shapes of antiquity, created for hot and cold drinks, table culture, hospitality, and actual use.
The Form
The Krateriskos is a handcrafted stoneware ceramic mug with a handle, inspired by the volute krater, one of the most iconic vessel shapes of antiquity. The monumental form has been reduced to the size of a personal drinking vessel and complemented by a handle that combines contemporary comfort with historical design language.

Material & Craft
This mug is made of high-quality stoneware and fired at a high temperature. The result is a material of exceptional density and durability, suitable for contact with food and tested for this by independent laboratories, dishwasher-safe for everyday use, and created for daily life. Meticulously handcrafted, each piece acquires its own character through subtle nuances in shape during firing and, especially with effect glazes, through the individual flow of the glaze.

The Use
Whether for coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon, an herbal infusion in the evening, water, fruit juice, or a refreshing cold beverage, the Krateriskos was created for actual use. The raised foot, the open silhouette, and the ergonomic handle give the ceramic mug a special presence on the dining table. Equally suitable for hot and cold drinks, it combines contemporary utility with the cultural depth of an ancient form.
What Makes It Special
The Krateriskos preserves the generous design language of the volute krater and translates it into a personal ceramic mug for today. The result is an object that unites European design history, artisanal craftsmanship, hospitality, and contemporary table culture.
The Meaning
Zeus Xenios, the god of guests and hospitality, is the origin of our name. For millennia, vessels like this have been at the heart of significant human moments: festive meals, philosophical conversations, and ceremonial gatherings. Those who hold this chalice in their hands hold not only ceramic, but a form with meaning and millennia-old European history, which lives on through XENIOS and celebrates every moment anew.
